Milton child given mini rum bottle while trick-or-treating

Halton Regional Police are alerting residents in a specific Milton neighbourhood about a potentially dangerous substance found inside a child’s trick-or-treat bag.

A mother discovered a mini rum bottle containing a clear fluid in her child’s bag but officers are not certain the liquid was alcohol.

The seal on the bottle had been compromised and was slightly leaking when it was turned over to police.

Police have determined the bottle was placed in the child’s bag by a resident in the Childs Drive and Ledwith Drive area.

Parents who had children trick-or-treating in that area are being urged by police to thoroughly inspect the candy.

The bottle has been sent away for analysis to identify what the liquid is.
