A Million Ways to Die in the West is a western-comedy film directed by Emmy Award winning man-of-many-hats Seth MacFarlane. The film follows Albert, a cowardly Arizonan sheep farmer, whose girlfriend leaves him for another man after he backs out of a gunfight. In a slump, Albert is desperate to escape the frontier in which everyone seems to be dying. But when a mysterious new woman shows up in town, the pair begin to fall slowly in love as she helps him regain his courage. This courage is put to the test when her notorious gun-slinging outlaw husband, played by Liam Neeson, arrives seeking revenge on the man that has made his wife unpure. The movie also co-stars Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris.

MacFarlane, best known for his involvement in the television series Family Guy and 2012’s Ted, can mostly be found behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera. The animator, comedian, writer, producer, director, singer, and now on-screen actor recently spoke about his major acting debut in A Million Ways To Die In The West saying, “It was more like voice acting than I thought it would be. You’re using your whole body and there are things that are different, but when you are doing a character even in the booth nobody is watching but still my face would do different things when I do different characters.”

A Million Ways to Die in the West is rated 14A.
