Milestone at Union Station
Construction at Union Station has reached a major milestone.
Monday night, the last of 48 vertical columns that will support the glass atrium over the train shed was put in place. The shed is undergoing its first renovation since it was built more than 80 years ago. GO says the improvements will move more GO riders, more quickly. This is part of a $270 million dollar project to improve transit in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area. Construction should be finished by the end of 2016.
