A 44 year old Brampton man is dead after a tractor-trailer crash in Michigan Saturday night.

Police say Thayalan Vinasithamby died after a car, driven by a teenage girl with an invalid license, slammed into his rig while street racing.

The truck then plowed into a grocery store and caught fire.

The female driver could be charged with negligent homicide and driving while her licence was suspended causing death.

The driver of the second race vehicle also may face charges.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Police say the 19 year old driver was estimated to be going between 145 to 160 kilometres an hour when his car slammed into the tractor-trailer.

The Brampton man was taking empty pop cans from Ohio to Mississauga.
