Metrolinx takes heat from Halton
Updated Happening tonight: a public meeting in Oakville to discuss the future of public transportation, and how it will serve the growing population of Halton.
Drivers can spend hours in traffic going to and from work. That’s why the province is focusing on reducing gridlock on our highways and improving transit access. Its regional transportation agency Metrolinx is inviting the public to a series of discussions on how millions of your taxpayer dollars are being spent to make the commute a little easier on everyone. But some Halton politicians are accusing Metrolinx of stalling on promises. Sean Cowan is at the Halton Regional Centre with more.

Metrolinx will be holding more public meetings throughout the GTA and Hamilton.
- The next one taking place in Halton happens in Georgetown on Saturday January 26th, 2 to 4 pm at the Gellert Community Centre;
- In Hamilton, Tuesday, February 12th, 6 to 8 pm at the Art Gallery of Hamilton;
- And in Dundas, Wednesday, February 16th, 1 to 3 pm at the Dundas Town Hall.
