Meridian Centre opens to the public

The Meridian Centre in St. Catharines celebrated its official opening on Saturday.
The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony at centre ice.
Visitors were allowed to explore the facility until 5 PM and were asked to bring a non-perishable item for ‘Community Care’ of St. Catharines and Thorold.
The $50million facility is the new home of the Niagara IceDogs.
The owner of the team, Bill Burke, and the mayor of St. Catharines, Brian McMullan, were at the open house.
Those who couldn’t make the event can take self-guided tours on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
