Students at St. Teresa of Calcutta elementary school in Hamilton are finding ways to cope with stress, an issue the kids say is on the rise.
The school’s Health Action Team introduced their fellow students to five ways of improving mental health. It was a day of learning with some fun along the way. Whether it’s preparing for an upcoming test or being included in the social circle students say they’ve been dealing with a lot of pressure.

Last year there was a survey conducted at the school to find out what the priority health issue was and the students from grades 1 to 8 answered that they wanted to learn more about coping with stress and mental health.

The Canadian Mental Health Association estimates that 10-20% of kids are affected by mental illness.
