Volunteers from the Mennonite Disaster Service are in Angus to help the town clean up the damage from Tuesday’s tornado.

Essa Township mayor Terry Dowdall says the Mennonite group is working to clean up yards, and make it safe for insurance adjusters to go into houses.

More than 100 homes were damaged by the twister and three people suffered minor injuries. Some residents have since been allowed to return home to get some belongings, but others are still being kept away from their badly damaged houses.

Premier Kathleen Wynne toured the damage yesterday and met with some residents.
