Memorial for Christopher Peloso

Premier Kathleen Wynne and former Premier Dalton McGuinty are among who attended a memorial service Friday for former Cabinet Minister George Smitherman’s husband.

Forty-year old Christopher Peloso, who married Smitherman in 2007, was found dead by police earlier this week after being reported missing. His obituary says Peloso had battled “increasingly acute symptoms of depression” in recent years. Smitherman served as Ontario’s Deputy Premier, Health Minister and Energy Minister before stepping down to run for Toronto Mayor in 2010.
