Memorial bike ride honours OPP officer killed in December

Hundreds of people took part in a memorial bike ride for an OPP officer killed on duty just last December.

The police say the response was phenomenal on Saturday, but also say the number of police killings in Canada has to stop.

The line of cyclists stretched along Lake Erie west of Dunnville, in the same area where Const. Greg Pierzchala worked as an OPP Officer.

The ride was in honour of Pierzchala who was shot and killed on Dec. 27 as he stopped to help a vehicle in the ditch near Hagersville.
