Man arrested after doctor stabbing at Hamilton clinic

Several police cruisers were stationed outside a walk-in clinic and pharmacy after witnesses say a doctor was attacked by a 49-year-old man.
A witness said the victim was stabbed in the hand and was “bleeding like crazy.” He said the doctor was then stabbed in the back.
The clinic and the dental office are separated by a glass door. Those waiting for a dentist say they watched the attack unfold.
Police say the attacker was subdued by other patients in the clinic while another doctor attended to his colleague’s wounds.
The injured physician took an ambulance to the hospital and will likely make a full recovery.
Police do not know what sparked the attack. Patients were turned away as detectives took over the area for the investigation.
The alleged attacker has been charged with assault with a weapon and is awaiting his bail hearing.
