McMaster awarded new research chairs
McMaster University has been awarded three new research chairs, and another has been renewed.
An Associate Professor at the school of nursing, Maureen Markle-Reid received the chair in aging, chronic disease and health promotion interventions. She will use it to develop ways to reduce the impact of chronic disease on older adults in community living.
Nathan Magarvey, an Assistant Science Professor, received the chair in natural product drug discovery. His focus will be to mine natural source materials to produce more effective therapy for diseases.
Catherine Connelly, an Associate Psychology Professor, received the chair in organizational behaviour. She will use it to investigate the factors and conditions that affect behaviour within the workplace.
Meanwhile, Natalia Nikolova, an Engineering Professor, had her chair in high frequency electro-magnetics renewed for another five years, and will continue to use it to develop microwave engineering systems.
