McKenna targets Working Families Coalition

The Ontario Liberal party has a powerful alliance with the Working Families Coalition who ran multi-million dollar ad campaigns against the Progressive Conservative party from 2003 until 2011. Now the Conservatives have launched the website Working Families Exposed to explain how the coalition affects taxpayers.

Tory economic development critic Jane McKenna puts it this way: “I think its our responsibility as the Queen’s Loyal Opposition to educate the Ontario people. I mean, there’s a million people unemployed right now, we have the highest rate of youth unemployment. They deserve to know that we are where we are because of what is going on with this.”

McKenna believes the government should not be run by union bosses and third-party spending should be fully disclosed. The Ontario PC party estimates that the Working Families Coalition advertising budget was up to $10 million in 2011 alone.
