Matthews broiled over Ornge findings

The opposition parties are hammering the Liberals today after yesterday’s scathing report on Ornge. During question period there were more calls for health minister Deb Matthews to resign, and at one point the debate got so rowdy that the speaker had to call a 10-minute recess members could cool off.
The auditor general’s report says the air ambulance service received hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars, but says the Liberals failed to sufficiently monitor the agency as it used the money to make questionable business deals.
Both the NDP and Conservatives used almost all their questions in the legislature to demand health minister Deb Matthews resign. But she’s refusing and is blaming the agency’s former management, saying she and the ministry were misled by Ornge.
