Matteo Mancini passes away

Some very sad news to tell you tonight.

Matteo Mancini, the young Thorold boy who inspired boxer Mike Strange to run 3,200 kilometres to raise money for cancer research, has died. Matteo passed away Wednesday morning, just days before his 13th birthday. He suffered from the same type of cancer that took the life of
Terry Fox. Matteo also lost his leg to the disease. Mike Strange started his cancer run at the same spot where Terry Fox had to give it up. Strange called Matteo his hero.
