Markham restaurant to reopen after customers food poisoned: York Region top doctor

A Markham, Ont. restaurant is expected to reopen today amid a public health investigation.
The medical officer in York Region says 12 people went to hospital Sunday night after eating the same chicken dish from Delight Restaurant and BBQ.
Public health investigators believe a spice in the dish was contaminated with aconite, a plant-based toxin found in herbs, roots and a flower.
The medical officer says the restaurant does not need to remain closed after it was cleaned, re-inspected and cleared of the suspected toxin.
