Marineland sues Toronto Star

Marineland has filed a $7 million dollar defamation lawsuit against the Toronto Star and two of its reporters.

The two reporters each wrote articles about the conditions at the theme park. Marineland is asking for $5 million in general damages and $2 million in punitive damages. Marineland is taking issue with two stories published in January and March of this year. It says the articles contain defamatory and false information. The stories focused on the park’s water and filtration system. Marineland says it suffered damage to its reputation and goodwill.
