Marineland investigation ends
Marineland has been given the stamp of approval as the OSPCA’s investigation into animal cruelty charges has wrapped up, with no charges laid.
Marineland has met the sixth and final order issued by the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the OSPCA says it found no evidence of animal abuse. The group says the case is now closed and they have revoked an order to prevent bears at Marineland from reproducing. the OSPCA began investigating Marineland, after former employees alleged there was animal abuse and neglect at the park in August. This week, Marineland filed a $7 million defamation lawsuit against the Toronto Star and two of its reporters who have been covering concerns about animal conditions at the park.
