It’s March and Southern Ontario is digging out of the biggest snowfall of the season.

Clean-up is under way after some areas were dumped with as much as 25 centimetres of snow – prompting some schools to close their doors.

Environment Canada ended its Winter storm warnings for much of the area early Wednesday.

The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board cancelled both its classes and buses but students at Catholic schools in the city were expected to show up to class.

City crews were fighting an uphill battle against mother nature.

OPP says there were at least 200 collisions since the snow started falling Tuesday night.

The storm system forced the cancellation of over 200 flights in and out of Pearson International Airport.

The city is now focusing its efforts on clearing out side streets.

Homeowners are being asked to keep parked cars off the street, so that plows can move through.
