The Hall of Fame Game was played between the Philadelphia Flyers and Maple Leafs as Eric Lindros, Rogie Vachon, Sergei Makarov and the late Pat Quinn, represented by his daughter Kalli, were honoured.

In the 1st period, the Leafs show plenty of jump as Tyler Bozak feeds Nazem Kadri and he drops Oakville’s Steve Mason to his belly for his 7th of the season, 1-0 Toronto.

Late stages of the first, Leafs down by a goal on a 5-3 power-play and defenseman Morgan Rielly shows great patience before he shoots and scores his first of the season — 2-2 after 20.

Second period, Leafs back on the power-play but the man advantage is a disadvantage as Toronto native Wayne Simmons makes no mistake on the break, 3-2.

Third period, and after tying the game at three, the Leafs storm the crease and off the goalmouth scramble it’s Zach Hyman giving the Leafs the lead with his first, 4-3 Toronto.

Minutes later, Flyers on the power-play but the home team seal the deal and after scoring a career 19 goals last year, Leo Komarov cashes in with his first.

The Leafs foil the Flyers, 6-3.

The NHL schedule has the Leafs in Pittsburgh, Saturday, against the Penguins, who are tied for first in the Metropolitan Division.
