Many homeless from Hamilton fire

An overnight fire in downtown Hamilton has sent one person to hospital, and left many more homeless.

Over 50 firefighters were called to the scene after the fire broke out just after 1am in a historic building complex on King Street East, near Victoria Avenue.

The fire started in one apartment but later spread to the other units, forcing 24 people out of their homes.

One woman was treated on scene, and a man was sent to hospital with life threatening smoke inhalation.
