Man, woman arrested after gun falls out during fight in Brantford

A man and woman have been arrested after a fight broke out at a Brantford business on Saturday.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Market St. around 1:50 a.m.
Police say two women got into a fight and were escorted out of the business by staff.
Once outside, the fight continued and a man stepped in and became involved in the altercation.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to separate the trio.
Police say as the man resisted a handgun fell from his person and onto the ground.
Officer seized the firearm and arrested the man after he attempted to escape.
One of the women tried to stop police from taking the man into custody and she was also arrested. The other woman fled the area.
A 28-year-old man from Brantford is charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, careless use of firearm, possession of firearm – tampered serial number, careless storage of firearm, unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, and resist arrest.
A 24-year-old woman was charged with obstruct police.
