Man wanted for shooting at Beamsville home while residents were asleep

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of shooting at a house in Beamsville while the residents were asleep inside Saturday night.
Investigators say the incident happened around 11:35 p.m. when a man drove a stolen white Hyundai Santa Fe SUV to a home on Central Ave. between John and Jackson streets.
Officers say the man used a handgun to fire nearly eight shots at a house and parked car. He sped away in the vehicle northbound on Central Ave. two minutes later.
The residents inside the home were not injured, police say.

Investigators say there is no ongoing threat to public safety as this shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.
The suspect is described as a Black man who is approximately 25 years old, has a skinny build and black braided hair. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Police say the stolen vehicle was later recovered in Hamilton.
Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area of the shooting to review their security cameras between 11 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
