Man wanted for setting fire to business in Hamilton’s north end

Police have released video showing a man setting fire to a business in Hamilton’s north end last week in hopes of identifying the suspect.
Hamilton police and fire crews responded around 3 p.m. on Oct. 5 for reports of a fire at the back of a commercial business in the area of Lottridge and Barton streets.
Emergency crews say no one was injured and there were only minor damages as the fire was quickly extinguished.
The man can be seen deliberately starting the fire in a surveillance video that investigators obtained.
Police describe the man as between the ages of 40 and 45 with shaggy dark hair and a dark goatee with a chin strap beard.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with a white Yellowstone logo, a black Puma golf shirt, a gold watch on his left wrist, dark jeans, black running shoes and carrying a yellow No Frills reusable bag and black backpack. The man was also operating an older model bicycle.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Det. Greg Blunsdon at 289-556-8786.
