It happened on April 7th. The man allegedly walked into an LCBO on Cooper Street near Queen’s Quay, and walked out without paying for the $26,000 bottle of 50 year old single malt Glenfiddich.

Police say the man walked into the LCBO at around 1:40 pm, made his way to the vintage section and took the bottle from a glass case. Police said he also picked out a bottle of wine and paid for it, but didn’t pay for the scotch.

Police released a security photo of the suspect today. He’s described as white, 35 to 45 years old, 5-foot-10, with black framed glasses. He was wearing a plaid burberry shirt, a brown hat and a brown trench coat. He also had on black jeans.

The stolen bottle of scotch is extremely rare. There are only 15 bottles in Ontario and only 50 worldwide.

Anyone with information is asked to call Toronto Police at 416-808-5100, or submit a tip to Crime Stoppers.
