Hamilton police have arrested a 55-year-old man after he allegedly threatened customers at a local coffee shop over the weekend.

Police responded to a weapons call at the Tim Horton’s at 80 John St. South around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say a man pointed a firearm at two patrons in the restaurant while making threats.

They say the man was carrying what appeared to be a “fully operational” flare gun that was not loaded.

Karsten Schreiner, of Hamilton, was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of point firearm, weapons dangerous, and utter threats.
