Man tries to rob store with butcher knife

Hamilton police are looking for a man wanted for attempting to rob a convenience store.

The man wore a “scream” mask and was armed with a butcher knife.

Police say he entered the store in the area of John Street South and Forest Avenue, demanded money, but was chased away by two store clerks.

He is described as white, with a skinny build.

Police say the incident is similar to another one on Sunday, where a man robbed a pizzeria while wearing a halloween mask and wielding a butcher knife, but they have not confirmed the two are related.
