Man struck by vehicle on Melvin Street near Parkdale Avenue

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Melvin Street in Hamilton early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 5:30 a.m., just east of Parkdale Ave. N.

Hamilton Paramedic Service superintendent Dave Thompson tells CHCH News a 26-year-old man was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police are on scene and Melvin St. is currently closed between Glasco Ave. and Bernard St.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.
