Man stabbed in Welland after argument turned violent

Niagara Regional Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in Welland early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to a home around 3 a.m. in the area of Margery Rd. and McMaster Ave. where a man in his 30’s was found with serious stab wounds.
The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital. His injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Police say the victim was involved in an argument with another person that led to the violence.

Investigators have identified Alexander Dwight Beverly Sr. from Buffalo, New York as the suspect.
The 50-year-old man is described as being 5’11 in height and weighting approximately 180 pounds.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing an orange vest and green fitted pants. Beverly Sr. is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him is asked to not approach him and immediately contact police.
