Man stabbed on Hamilton Mountain Saturday night

Hamilton police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the leg late Saturday night.

Police were called shortly before midnight to the area of Stone Church Road near Upper Sherman Avenue.

“A 35-year-old Hamilton man was found with a large wound to his right leg,” said Staff Sergeant Chris Hastings.

The man was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

There is no information about the weapon or the attacker.

“The victim is being uncooperative,” said Hastings. “We believe he was targeted and this was not random.”

He added there is no concern for public safety.

Police are no longer holding a scene but continue to investigate the incident.
