Niagara police are hoping the public can help identify a man who robbed a St. Catharines restaurant at gunpoint.

It happened at The Fryin’ Guys restaurant on Lake St. near Dufferin St. around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a man walked into the building and used a handgun to rob the business.

He then fled the area on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen travelling on Dufferin St., heading eastbound towards York St.

No staff or customers were physically hurt during the incident.

Police are looking for a man who is described as white, roughly five-foot-ten, 150 lbs, with a slender build, matted or dreadlocked mid-length light brown hair, and has a tattoo on his right calf.

The thief was wearing a backward blue baseball cap with a bandana underneath, a blue or grey long-sleeve button-down shirt, blue plaid shorts, a black face mask, red and white socks, and yellow gloves. He was carrying a black Nike backpack with a black side bag.

Police say the bicycle had a black frame with a red marking or logo on the bottom bar and a white seat.

Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area with security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras to review their footage for suspicious activity between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact Niagara police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
