Man shot in shoulder on steps of St. James Church

Hamilton police say they are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 12 at around 4:20 a.m.

Police say a lone man was asleep on the steps of St James Church in the area of James St S and Jackson St in Hamilton.  An unknown man walked up to him and attacked him. 

During the attack, police say the man was shot in the shoulder. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled on foot and then drove away in a dark sedan waiting nearby.
