Man shot in east Hamilton

Police are looking for suspects after a man was shot outside a subsidized townhouse complex in east Hamilton early Thursday.

A resident called police to report what sounded like two gun shots just after 2:30 am. The resident told police two men were running near a well-lit basketball court on Oriole Crescent and one of the men was limping. A black sport utility vehicle was seen driving away.

Police responded to find a 29-year-old man nearby bleeding from the buttocks. He’s recovering in hospital but police say he’s not cooperating with their investigation.

Three years ago a 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death in the same housing complex.
