Man sentenced to prison for sexually exploiting Hamilton girl, 7

A 50-year-old Hamilton man has been sentenced to jail for his role in the sexually exploitation of a 7-year-old Hamilton girl.

John Gallagher received three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to making and possessing child pornography.

Gallagher admitted to responding to an online Craigslist ad entitled “Incest daughter”. He said he watched videos of the victim’s mother’s boyfriend rape the young girl and that he intended on raping her as well.

The judge also ordered that Gallagher be placed on the sex offenders registry for life.  He will never be allowed near public parks, he’s banned from the internet and can’t have any interactions with anyone under the age of 16.

The girl’s aunt said in her victim impact that no sentence handed down will ever bring back what was taken from her niece.

A Hamilton man, 36, a Waterloo man, 38, and a Waterloo woman, 48, are also facing a slew of charges including sexual assault and making child pornography. Charges against the girl’s mother have been stayed. The mother’s boyfriend is facing 40 charges.
