Man presumed drowned in Brampton

A search is resuming this morning for the body of a man who disappeared beneath the water at a lake in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say a man in his early twenties didn’t resurface after deciding to go swimming at Professor’s Lake with a friend around 8:30 last night.  The friend called 911.

The man is a Brampton resident.

The water at Professor’s Lake is about 60 feet deep.  A marine unit has been called in to help in the recovery effort.

There’s been at least one other drowning at Professor’s Lake this year.
