Man injured in Hwy. 6 crash

A man remains in stable but serious condition after a crash on Highway 6 south of Caledonia this morning.

The highway remains closed in both directions at 3rd Line in Haldimand County after. A tractor trailer and a Volkswagen collided.

The victim was originally taken to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition. Crews are currently at the scene cleaning up, but OPP say the problem now is moving the tractor trailer.

“Due to the damage of the transport, we’re no longer able to move it — full load of gasoline — because of the shape of the truck its still stable,” said Const. Mark Foster of the OPP.

The road closures are expected to last for several hours.
