The province’s chief medical officer of health says they have a confirmed case of a new strain of the H1N1 influenza virus in a Southwestern Ontario man.

Dr Arlene King says the man became sick, after being in close contact with pigs, and is being treated in hospital. King is quick to re-assure Ontarians that this variant influenza virus rarely spreads from animals to people.
