Man in golf cart charged with impaired driving in Brantford

Brantford Police say a man is facing charges after officers pulled over a driver on a golf cart.

Police were called about a person driving a golf cart northbound on Wayne Gretzky Parkway at Henry St. around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

The caller said the person had what appeared to be an alcoholic drink in hand.

Officers were able to located the golf cart on the parkway at Lynden Rd. and pulled the driver over.

They say the driver had an open alcohol container.

Police say the driver failed the roadside screening test and blew over twice the legal limit.

A 23-year-old man from Brantford was charged with impaired driving and his licence was suspended for 90 days.

He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
