Man hospitalized after shots fired near Hookah lounge: Hamilton

An early morning shooting near a hookah lounge in central Hamilton has sent a man to hospital.

Hamilton police say they were called to the California Dream Lounge just before 7 a.m. Saturday after receiving a call about a possible shooting in the area.

When they arrived, they found a man outside the establishment who had been shot.

Authorities say he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say that they believe this is a targeted shooting and there is no outstanding risk to the public.

At this time, police have not released any additional information relating to the case and say they do not currently have a suspect description at this time.
