Man from London, Ont. arrested for public intoxication in Brantford

Brantford police have arrested and charged a man from London, Ont. for public intoxication.
Officers say they responded Tuesday shortly before 12 p.m. when a disturbance occurred with a man who appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
Investigators say the man was running at police and yelling obscenities.

Due to the person’s behaviour and the level of intoxication, the accused was arrested and held in custody until he was sober.
Officers say the accused refused to identify himself to police.
As a result, a 39-year-old man from London, Ont. stands charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to the Criminal Code, and
- Being Intoxicated in Public Place, contrary to the Liquor Licence Control Act
