Man found in snow bank with stab wounds, police investigate

Hamilton police are investigating after a man who was stabbed was found lying in a snow bank early Tuesday morning.

It happened in the area of Robinson and MacNab streets sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m.

Police believe the man had asked some people for money but was turned down. One person told police they felt bad and went back to check on the man a short time later.

At the same time, someone called 911 to report a man was lying on the ground calling for help.

The man was found in a snow bank suffering from three stab wounds to his back.

He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect is unknown at this time but is described as a white male.
