Man found nearly 40 years after he went missing

The OPP say a Southern Ontario man who disappeared almost 40 years ago and was declared dead by the courts has been found alive in the U.S.

Ronald Stan was reported missing after a 1977 fire in a rural area near London.

Police say a routine review of the case led to the discovery that the man was living in the U.S. under the assumed identity of Jeff Walton.

Police don’t know how or why the man ended up in the States, but the case is now closed.
