Man fatally stabbed outside central Hamilton convenience store

Hamilton Police say a man has died after a stabbing in central Hamilton.

The man was found unresponsive outside a variety store near Cannon St. E and Wellington Ave. N around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Police tell CHCH News he was stabbed.

Hamilton Police are investigating the city’s 12th homicide after a male in his 60s was found unresponsive outside a variety store on Cannon Street in #HamOnt. A female has been arrested and police are not seeking additional suspects. More details to follow.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead just before midnight.

Police have identified the victim as 60-year-old Zoran Benasich of Hamilton.

Melena Pheasant, 36, from Hamilton has been charged with second-degree murder.

This is Hamilton’s 12 homicide this year.
