Man fatally stabbed in Westdale in 13th homicide in Hamilton this year

Hamilton Police have identified the 34-year-old man fatally stabbed in Westdale.

Police say Michael Gallo was stabbed in the backyard of his home near Main St. W and Haddon Ave. S around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The murder is the city’s second homicide this week and 13th of the year.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the murder.

They are looking to speak with a man seen in the area at the time.

Detectives will remain in the area for several hours canvassing for witnesses and video.
