Man fatally shot in head and dumped on Hamilton street, police search for vehicle

Update
Police have now identified the victim as 39-year-old Shane Grenier of Hamilton.
Hamilton police are hoping the public can help identify a black sedan that investigators believe was used in the city’s latest homicide.
Shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to the area of Tisdale St. South and Erie Ave.
A 39-year-old man was found lying on the ground and suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
During a news conference on Monday, investigators said they believed the man was “dumped” out of a vehicle and left in the area.
Witnesses reported seeing a black sedan driving down the street right before the man was discovered.
Police released four images of the car which is described as a four-door, black or dark-coloured BMW with silver rims.
Detectives do not have any suspect descriptions available at this time.
Police say they know the identity of the victim but are not releasing it as they are still working to notify next of kin.
Officers were canvassing the area on Monday trying to track down surveillance footage and speak with potential witnesses.
Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact Det. Michael Ebert at 905-546-4167.
