Man fatally shot in east-end Toronto

A 20-year-old man has died following a shooting near Main Street and Kingston Road in Toronto’s east end.

The victim, now identified as Gaethan Kitadi, was shot in the upper body just after midnight.

Police say the victim was celebrating his 20th birthday with between 20 and 30 people last night when some unknown people showed up.

There was reportedly a confrontation in the lobby of the building as a group of people were leaving, at which point Katadi was shot.

Police are speaking to witnesses.
