Man facing gun charges in Brampton two weeks after incident in Niagara Falls

A St. Catharines man is facing several firearm related charges after he was found to be in possession of a loaded gun in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police patrol officers investigated a vehicle shortly before 3 a.m. on Friday in the area of Kennedy Rd. & Queen St. in Brampton.
Officers seized a loaded Norinco NP762 handgun and a quantity of illegal substance believed to be cocaine.

Boysie Alexander Murray, 41, from St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Obstruct peace officer
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Tampering with a serial number
- Possession of firearm, contrary to order x3
- Possession of controlled substance
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
Murray was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Police released a statement two weeks ago saying they were looking for Murray regarding an incident in a Tim Hortons drive-thru.
Murray reportedly pulled a knife on another patron after engaging in a disagreement.
