Man faces second-degree murder charges in Brampton homicide

A man has been charged after a woman was found dead in a Brampton home early Sunday morning.

Peel police say the woman’s body was found inside the house on Nanwood Drive, near Main and Queen Street, just after midnight.

A man was arrested at the home.

Police also talked to a woman who was believed to be inside the house at the time. She was later released.

Police say the woman’s body had obvious signs of trauma.

There is no word yet on the cause of the her death.

36-year-old Richard Pereira has been charged with second degree murder.
