Man dies of injuries from Wednesday crash

A 56-year old Fort Erie man has died of his injuries after a violent crash on the QEW in Niagara on Wednesday afternoon.

He was critically injured in a four vehicle crash and died in hospital. Wayne Peck was trapped underneath the dashboard of his smashed minivan. Once firefighters were able to pull him from his vehicle, he was rushed to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. Peck’s wife Lena, and the driver of another van, were taken to Greater Niagara General Hospital. The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the highway near Lyons Creek Road. Brian Desrosiers was only a few cars behind the collision.
