Man convicted in murder from ’83

An Ontario man has been found guilty of a murder dating back to 1983.

The man was just 15 years old when the murder occurred.

The now 44-year-old man has been convicted of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual assault in the stabbing death of 70 year old Velma Thomson.

The man cannot be named because of his age at the time of the offence.

The crown is making an application for an adult sentence.
